MusT hAve LeaTheR

Everyone should have a great leather jacket. They're one of the must have pieces for fall. I love the leather Jessica Biel has on in the picture below. Who makes it? None other then her man Justin Timberlake. It's part of the William Rast Holiday 2009 Collection.

It's ruffled collar and buttery pearl color give this motorcycle more of a feminine touch. Unfortunately, it's not available until October. Guess we'll have to wait. Check www.williamrast.com for further details.

I WISH......

Wish is one of my new favorite clothing lines! Not to be mistaken for the line called Wish Collection. This line is designed out of Sydney, Australia. I first found it at Guise Chic in Chicago, IL. It's fun, girly, a little sexy, and affordable! Prices range from $85.00-$150.00. Here are the pieces I took home. A cute ivory dress with delicate straps, a corset like top with eyelet clasps up the front, and a black lace overlay bottom to give it a two piece look. I also grabbed a tank that's cinched at the waist and has these great lace and ribbing details that might be hard to see from my picture here.

Wish can be tough to find. It's sold in select US boutiques and few online stores. Go to www.wish.com.au for locations near you!

Stylish friends who inspire me...

I have stylish friends who inspire me everyday! Over the weekend my friend Jill bought a pair of tie dye jeans from Madewell. At first she thought they might be a little too trendy but no way! I love what she put together. Jill's cute blouse, accessories, and strappy sandals give these ultra cool jeans a classy look!

I love lamp...

The White Attic in Chicago, IL is my new favorite shop for home furnishings.  I'm on the hunt for a new table lamp and found a great selection here. They specialize in refinishing vintage furniture. The owners hand pick each piece then sand, paint, and add hardware giving it an updated polished look.

Browse their website at www.thewhiteattic.com or stop by one of their two locations if you live in Chicago. If you don't live in town and see something on the site you'd like to purchase they'll ship it out too.

The store layout is great too. As you can see in the pictures they stack the furniture pieces on top of each other. They do this to create more space but it also makes for an interesting display. Whether you're looking for wall art, a mirror, or a new lamp shade......The White Attic has it all!

Buy of the Week!

Viscose Dolman Sleeve T $32.00

I just purchased my new favorite T from American Apparel. It has a cute boat neck and 3/4 length sleeves.  The best part is that it's ultra light weight and the sleeves have a slight bat wing shape. It comes in white, black, and midnight blue. I bought it in midnight but will be going back for the others! Wear it with any bottom or tucked into a skirt!

To buy go to http://store.americanapparel.net/rsavc300.html or any American Apparel store. Two thumbs up from your brand aid!

Over the weekend I was in sunny California for the 2009 Coachella Valley Music Festival. It's a 3 day music festival held in the desert of Indio, CA.

The music performances were incredible and the summer fashions hot! Here are my top 10 favorite summer trends that I saw all over at Coachella.

5) Saddle handbag with a long strap- The brown leather style above can be found at www.duluthpack.com for $165.00. Cute and has a vintage appeal to it.

loft life

These pictures are long overdue. My new loft finally feels like home. Just to refresh your memory here are the before pictures:

Here are the after pictures!

I love how everything came together! I was able to fit all of the furniture from my old apartment. I was thrilled with how great each piece worked in the space.

I purposely divided the floor into 4 areas. A living room, dining, sleeping, and office area. I gave myself a $300.00 budget and spent it on wall paint and a few home accents. I only ended up spending $235.00! This leaves me a little extra money for my next project.....the bathroom. Stay tuned!

A Leg UP!

Just had a few questions for you for spring-
Do you think leggings will still be in for spring/summer? If so, how would you wear them- tops, shoes, etc.? I haven't really gotten into colored leggings. How do you feel about them?

Thanks!

Lisa
Grand Blanc, MI

Hi Lisa! Yes, leggings are still a great piece to have for spring and summer. I've been seeing them in three lengths:

Ankle
Mid calf
Above the knee

They're showing them under cute dresses, tunics, and skirts. For a sexy look pair them with a heel. Ballet flats, sandals, or converse sneakers for a casual look. Colored or textured leggings are a great! Check out www.welovecolors.com. They have all sorts of colors, prints, lengths, and great prices. Most range from $12.00-$18.00. I've also found that Target has a pretty good selection at reasonable prices.

Have you seen any leather or pleather leggings? This is another trend that's hot....they're showing them come fall too.

I've pulled some pictures to help show you different ways you can wear leggings.
